Vassa Enterprises, located in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania, recently took delivery of an important piece of equipment from Ransome CAT, headquartered in Bensalem, Pa. Vassa received the first C-series skid steer delivered in the Delaware/Lehigh Valley region, a Cat 272 C skid steer loader.

Keith Vassa, owner of Vassa Enterprises, is delighted with his purchase and happy to be setting a precedent for others to follow.

“I wanted to add another skid steer to my line and decided to wait for the C-series to come out,” Vassa explained. “It took a long time, but I was lucky to get the first one off the line, and it’s a really unique piece. I customized my order and it’s fully dressed, with a multi-band radio and every comfort available for the operator.”

Cat’s new C-series line up of skid steer and multi-terrain loaders offers a number of upgrades and improvements, which Vassa has found are key to improving job performance.

“There are a lot of improvements on the C-series,” Vassa said. “Ride control is a big one. You can set moving speed without affecting implement speed. The visibility is improved. You can see underneath the lifting arm with ease. There is also more lifting capacity.”

Vassa had another option added, one that makes a real difference in his work.

“Ransome also acquired the first set of hydraulic operating forks to further customize the skid steer for me. The forks can lift anything from boulders to plant material, all while being adjusted hydraulically. This is a huge time saver. The time saved by the efficiency of this feature almost pays for the skid steer payment,” Vassa said.

Because all of Vassa’s equipment comes from Cat, he is well versed in the brand and eager to have his 272 C out on jobs and being seen by others in the industry.

“This is very new and Ransome expects to see a lot of customer reaction when they see this piece. I’ve been dealing with Ransome for over 25 years and they are just great. Jason Fisher, my salesperson in the Lehigh Valley is excellent with support. He stays in great contact about the equipment I buy, about new products from Cat, about everything. Also, the support that I get from Thatcher Oswald, Lehigh Valley branch manager, has been first-rate with timely parts deliveries and superior service repairs,” Vassa said.

Vassa Enterprises deals in landscaping, excavating and demolition. They also have a real estate division, in which they develop their own projects. CEG
