At the annual Volunteer Celebration and Awards Night hosted by the local branch of the Canadian Diabetes Association recently, Marketing Strategies & Solutions received the 2015 Regional Outstanding Partnership Award.
Marketing Strategies & Solutions is a London-based advertising agency and communications consultancy established here by Robert Adeland and Mina Thaler-Adeland in 1997. Both the family and their business have been known for their active support of the CDA and of Banting House National Historic Site of Canada for many years.
In addition to their service on the London board and on project committees, their company has contributed varied marketing, coordination and creative services to CDA programs, most notably for Banting & Friends and “The Meal” fundraising dinner. “The Meal” is recognized as one of the nation's longest running and most successful regional fundraising campaigns for diabetes research.
On receiving the award, Robert Adeland said, “Diabetes has been part of our lives for over 30 years. We're more than happy to do anything we can to help find a cure and bring an end to this terrible disease. We also hope that this encourages other firms to do similar work in their community. Not for the award, but because it is the right thing to do!”
The Awards night was held on April 13, 2016, at Banting House, The Birthplace of Insulin, on Adelaide Street in London. The 34th edition of “The Meal” will take place on May 1, 2016, at the DoubleTree by Hilton London.
