CEO Moser Takes Ownership of McAllister Equipment Co.

- Midwest Edition

In November 2004, Jack L. Moser became the major shareholder of this northern Illinois distributorship McAllister Equipment Co. (MEC).

Moser has been the company’s president and chief executive officer for the past two years.

Along with Moser, a group of seven other investors purchased the dealership. Led by James A. Hock, president of Aring Equipment Company, the investors will not be involved in the day-to-day management of MEC.

Moser has more than 25 years of experience in corporate management at both the manufacturing and distribution levels of the construction equipment industry, as well as the entrepreneurial experience of having owned and operated his own construction company.

His prior work experience includes president/CEO of Construction Machinery Inc., vice president/CFO of Daewoo Heavy Industries; and senior vice president/CFO of Volvo Construction Equipment.

MEC has been part of the northern Illinois construction industry for 50 years. The company was known as a crane house in the 1970s and 1980s with huge inventories of Link-Belt cranes and Michigan loaders. MEC has expanded its product line as Volvo has expanded its equipment offerings.

Today, MEC has balanced its product offering by growing the role of Volvo in the product mix with balanced inventories of wheel loaders, motor graders, articulated haulers, excavators, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, compact wheel loaders and mini excavators.

MEC also has a strong presence in the aggregate and crane markets, by representing market-leading manufacturers such as Kohlberg-Pioneer and Link-Belt Cranes.

Established in 1955, McAllister Equipment Co. is a full-service construction equipment dealership headquartered in Alsip, IL, with locations in East Peoria, Ingleside and Rockford.

Representing product lines like Broce Broom, Gorman-Rupp, Kolberg-Pioneer, Link-Belt Cranes, NPK and Volvo Construction Equipment, MEC caters to virtually every segment of the construction, industrial and municipal markets.
