Cooper Equipment Co. held a grand opening Oct. 12, 2018, at its new location at 201 Commerce Blvd. in Georgetown, Texas. At the event, Cooper Equipment also began an early celebration for an upcoming milestone — next year will mark its 60th year in business as an equipment distributorship.
More than 125 customers, employees and vendors were on hand for the day-long celebration that included equipment specialists for each of Cooper's lines, as well as food and entertainment.
The Cooper family hosted the event — George Cooper, president; his wife, Jerri; daughter Megan, company secretary; and son, Matt, district manager. Other leadership personnel on hand were Fred Jose, vice president, and Rick Chapman, Georgetown branch manager.
The 15,500 sq.- ft. facility will serve Cooper's expanding customer base in the greater Austin area. The company's headquarters is located at 17474 Judson Rd. in San Antonio.
In addition to handling Cooper's existing lines of asphalt-related road equipment, the Georgetown branch also will sell and support Hitachi loaders and Dynapac's paving and compaction equipment.
Cooper Equipment Co., founded in 1959 by George's father, Bob, who acquired the Etnyre asphalt distributor dealer rights, has remained the Etnyre dealer of south central Texas ever since. The company specializes in equipment for paving, chipseal, compaction, stabilizing, reclaiming, recycling, crack filing, sweeping and road widening.
In addition to carrying Hitachi and Dynapac, Cooper is an authorized dealer of E.D. Etnyre, Broce Broom, Carlson Paver, Puckett Paver, CPMG, DuraPatcher, Midland and Bagela recyclers.
