Custom Equipment Inc. Adds Two New Hybrid Scissor Lifts

- National Edition
Updated:

Custom Equipment Inc., West Bend, Wis., has added two new scissor lifts to its Hybrid family of compact, light-weight scissor lifts. The new models share many of the same design features of the HB-1030, which has proven to be the lift of choice for many contractors, including drywallers, electricians and plumbers.

Designed for indoor use in construction, maintenance and retail applications, Hybrid lifts have a low overall machine weight, while maintaining a high lifting capacity, are light enough to travel on many delicate floors, fit through standard doorways, and can be transported in most elevators.

Custom Equipment’s first new model, the HB-1430 weighs in at 1,650 lbs. (748 kg) with a rated load capacity of 670 lbs. (303.9 kg) and includes a two-person 25- by 60-in. (63.5 by 152 cm) platform, with a 30-in. (76 cm) slide out deck extension. The HB-1430 has a 27-in. (68 cm) lowered platform height, just 5 in. (12.7 cm) higher than the HB-1030, and has 20 ft. (6.1 m) of platform working height.

The fully proportional dual wheel electric drive system with fully proportional electric steering provides for a quiet ride with easy maneuverability in tight spaces, according to the manufacturer.

Wheel size on the new HB-1430 has increased to 10 in. (25 cm) and retains Custom Equipment’s 4-wheel front steering design. This steering helps to eliminate carpet buckling and tile damage that can be caused by traditional 2-wheel front steering systems.

A single hose, self-contained hydraulic pump virtually eliminates hydraulic oil leakage and all units feature a powder coating for corrosion protection.

The new HB-1030E weighs 1,323 lbs. (600 kg) with a rated load capacity of 750 lbs. (340.2 kg). A 23.6-in. (60 cm) lowered platform height provides easy access with an extended working platform height of 16 ft. (4.87 m).

Standard features include a 25- by 60-in. (64 by 152 cm) platform with a 30 in. (76 cm) extension, a 4-wheel front steering design preventing floor damage, a quiet, fully proportional electric drive system with fully proportional steering, an independent hydraulic system and a powder coat finish.

At a width of 30 in. (76 cm) and length of 63 in. (161 cm), this lift can fit through most doorways and standard elevators, allowing it to go where larger and heavier lifts cannot.
