Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, a member of the ALL Family of Companies, held its 17th Annual Golf Outing on Aug. 10.

More than 125 people participated, including Dawes customers, equipment manufacturers, and Dawes and ALL management. Through mulligans, raffles, and a silent auction, they raised $6,000 to benefit Rawhide Boys Ranch in Wisconsin.

Steve Freckmann, Dawes’ general manager, presented the check to Dave Borash, Rawhide’s development manager, on Sept. 11.

Rawhide is a faith-based, non-profit residential care center offering moral guidance, encouragement, therapeutic counseling, specialized education, and work experience for troubled teen boys.

Freckmann decided five years ago to make the annual event more meaningful by benefiting a local charity.

He said the choice of Rawhide Boys Ranch grew out of his wish “to help boys and young men who are at risk for making wrong choices that can lead to a life of failure and broken dreams. I was very blessed to have a wonderful father and mentor who kept me on the right path.” He added, “A number of young men who have worked for Dawes could have benefited from a program like Rawhide; some of these young men washed out because they came from homes without a father figure and lacked a strong work ethic and a sense of purpose. Now we have a chance to give back and help these at-risk youths so they may someday enjoy the same opportunities that many of us take for granted.”

Freckmann added, “I’m grateful to our customers for coming out during this tough economic time and for their generosity in donating to help these young men.”

Dawes has donated to other charitable causes through the years, including United Way, the Boys & Girls Club, Second Harvest, and the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. ALL Family of Companies President Michael Liptak said, “We are proud that Dawes’ generosity upholds the ALL Family of Companies’ commitment to the communities in which we work.”

Dawes is a certified dealer of new equipment for Broderson, Elliott, Genie, Gradall, JLG, Link-Belt, Lull, National Boom Trucks, Peiner, Potain, Skyjack, Sky Trak, Snorkel, Shuttlelift, and Terex for Wisconsin.
