Deister Machine Company, a supplier of vibrating screens and feeders, has received top honors at the recent Vulcan Materials Company 8th Annual Alliance Partner Awards Banquet. Deister Machine Company was rated number one among all Vulcan suppliers and was honored with the new 2006 Platinum Award — the highest distinction given by Vulcan Materials.

Deister Machine Company is located in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The company was evaluated by Vulcan Materials’ plant superintendents and area managers as to product quality, service and support, ease of transactions, value and overall performance.

Award candidates for bronze, silver or gold awards must achieve a set minimum point level and must be rated by no less than 25 plant managers or locations. To be considered for the newly created Platinum Award, suppliers must be evaluated by no less than 100 managers or locations. Only three Platinum Awards were given for 2006.

Joe Schlabach, vice president of marketing and sales, stated: “We are proud of the partnerships we have formed with Vulcan Materials and with all of our customers. This new Platinum Award is an acknowledgement that we have continued to maintain our tradition and reputation as a leader in manufacturing, and in personalized customer relations and service.”

As the largest producer of construction aggregates in North America, Vulcan Materials Company shipped approximately 255 million tons of aggregates in 2006, and currently has more stone reserves than any other company in the United States. Deister has placed nearly 800 screen units in Vulcan operations.

Family-owned for nearly a century, the year 2007 marks Deister’s 95th anniversary as a preferred provider of vibrating feeding, scalping and screening equipment to the crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt, coal, coke, slag and ore processing industries. Each piece of Deister equipment is designed and customized to meet specific customer needs, an aspect that is critical to cost-efficient material processing, and maximum productivity and performance.
