Dobbs Equipment hosted the 2026 Dobbs Equipment Golf Classic at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., raising more than $159,900 to benefit Construction Angels.
The event took place April 30 and May 1, 2026, at the resort's Champions Course and included a cocktail reception, breakfast, tournament play and lunch. The Champions Course is home to one of the PGA Tour tournaments and is known for the Bear Trap, one of the most challenging three-hole stretches among all PGA Tour courses.
This year's tournament featured record-setting participation from customers based in Georgia, representing six different companies, highlighting the event's continued growth and expanding regional reach.
The tournament drew 138 players across 36 teams and was supported by more than 35 sponsors. Funds were raised through sponsorships, raffle prizes, a silent auction and specialty contests including hole-in-one, beat the pro, longest drive, putting contests and closest to the pin.
Each year, the Dobbs Equipment Golf Classic has been hosted at a different location across Central and South Florida. The 2026 event marked the first return to the West Palm Beach area since the tournament's inaugural year.
Key organizers included Kristi Ronyak, Audrey Mathews, Chrissy Griffin and Jen Ballester of Construction Angels and Augusto Salles, Sammie Spissak and Sarah Jackson of Dobbs Equipment.
"Each year, the Dobbs Golf Classic continues to improve in so many ways," said Kristi Ronyak CEO and founder/National executive director of Construction Angels Inc. "This year, various companies outside of Florida participated in this event for the first time. Through Dobbs' wide network, new partners were introduced to our charity, helping raise funds and awareness for families across multiple states. Also, several companies shared they would like to host a fundraising event of their own, in their home states. This would help expand the impact of Construction Angels even further, which is what Dobbs and John Deere have done for our charity."
Mid Coast Aggregates captured first place with team members Dave Joney, Jason Hilley, Adam Wallace and Matt Coonrod. Second place honors went to Bennett Civil LLC with Daniel Bennett, Jason Jern, Bradley Mellott and Bryce Goff.
The Bear Trap competition was won by Cougar Companies with Andrew Schmitt, Brandon Schmitt, Nick Rice and DJ Beaber. Brandon Schmitt of Cougar Companies also won the longest drive contest. Matt Coonrod of Mid Coast Aggregates earned closest-to-the-pin honors. The putting contest was won by Bing Kearney of The Kearney Companies.
Construction Angels is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance and grief counseling to construction trade families following a work-related fatality or serious injury.
Looking ahead, Dobbs Equipment plans to host next year's Golf Classic on Florida's west coast or in Central Florida as the event continues to rotate locations across the state.
