Doosan Portable Power donated $6,000 to the Charlotte affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the leading breast cancer awareness and research organization in the United States.

The donation was part of a broader national effort from Doosan Portable Power to support Susan G. Komen and to increase breast cancer awareness. During October, the equipment manufacturer made three pink products available to its North American dealers — a P185 air compressor, G25 mobile generator, and LightSource Compact (LSC) light tower. All Doosan Portable Power dealers in the United States had the chance to purchase one of the three machines to support the cause. Pink Doosan branded merchandise also was available through the Doosan Portable Power Web site with 10 percent of all sales of the pink merchandise going to Susan G. Komen.

Doosan Portable Power provided a donation of $2,000 per pink machine, with a total donation of $6,000. Shawn Sweet, president of Doosan Portable Power, and David Stahlman, vice president of global marketing at Doosan Portable Power, presented a check on behalf of Doosan Portable Power to Jane Cacchione, development and race director at the Charlotte Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

“Doosan Portable Power is proud to be able to make this donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” said Sweet. “And we hope to be able to continue our support of this effort to find a cure for breast cancer.”

Doosan Portable Power product lineup includes generators, air compressors, light towers, and light compaction equipment. Doosan Portable Power has been located in Statesville, N.C., since 2007 and employs more than 500 people.

The Charlotte Affiliate is a grant-making organization. In 2011, the organization granted more than $1.7 million towards its mission to save lives and end breast cancer. Locally, Komen Charlotte contributed $1.2 million to 24 non-profit programs within the Komen Charlotte nine county service area to provide vital breast cancer screening, education, and treatment programs directly to the medically underserved, uninsured, or underinsured.
