Dealer representatives from Cate Equipment, Victor L. Phillips, Construction Machinery Company and Anderson Equipment, as well as Dynapac and Atlas Copco executives and employees from around the world, joined Dynapac USA at its Garland, Texas, facility to celebrate the launch of the company’s new North American paver line. Dynapac’s F1000 T tracked and F1000 W wheeled 10-foot-wide asphalt pavers — the first two models in the product line — were officially introduced to contractors at World of Asphalt in February 2010.
With a promise to dealers and contractors that they’ve “Got your back” on everything from sales to service support, “Dynapac has designed a paver line that in a short time is going to be the benchmark in the paving industry,” said Bruce Truesdale, president, Dynapac USA.
To start the day’s events, Claes Ahrengart, president, Atlas Copco Road Construction Equipment Division, commented on Atlas Copco’s business structure and the company’s vision for its business lines. Then, with images of gridiron football heroics behind him on a full-wall screen, Truesdale discussed Dynapac’s team approach to success as it developed its North American paver line.
“We’ve intently studied what it really means for us to be able to say, ’We’ve got your back.’”
Truesdale went on to add that the entire Dynapac team has taken this message to heart as it has developed its game plan for the F1000 series.
Designed specifically for the North American contractor and made in America, the F1000 series pavers have been built for maximum performance with a low cost of ownership. Truesdale went on to explain that “Got your back” also means a highly trained team of Dynapac personnel and regional dealers specializing in pavers and asphalt application, and dedicated parts and service support is available 24/7.
Graciela Ruiz, director of aftermarket parts and service, stressed Dynapac’s commitment to “exceptional service after the sale.” She pointed out Dynapac’s extensive parts inventory and online resources for dealers and explained that each paver will be delivered to the contractor with a preventative maintenance kit, while the dealer will receive a consignment container with critical parts for each paver it sells.
George Platt, vice president, Paving & Milling, Dynapac USA, went into detail on the features and benefits of the F1000 series, and Myke Thurman, branch manager, Cate Rental & Sales, Salt Lake City, Utah, pointed out how Cate worked extensively with Dynapac to get the details right.
“I never saw an engineer on a job site before, let alone one who took direction from the operators,” said Thurman. “We suggested improvements and when we showed up the next day, the changes were already made.”
Kevin Ford, shop foreman/product support and training manager with Cate Rental & Sales, operated the F1000 T on several demonstration projects throughout Utah and added, “There was absolutely no problems with the mat. I have total confidence in it and I’d take it anywhere and do anything with this paver.”
“We worked with people who’ve been in paving their whole lives, and they say the new Dynapac paver is bulletproof,” concluded Thurman. “It’s important to us as a dealer to have a reliable product and to work with a company that can stand behind it.”
After a morning of discussion and presentations the participants at the event were lead to a large tent to view the first production pavers. The sub-freezing temperatures didn’t stop the guests from getting up close to the pavers to view the unique design features and benefits.
The prototypes that had been on location working in Utah and Nevada were brought back to the factory so everyone had an opportunity to operate the machines.
