The Dallas Business Journal is reporting that a second construction worker has died in an accident at a construction at Argyle High School in Denton County in less than a week.
CBS 11 reported that a worker was killed Tuesday when he was hit at about 10:30 a.m. by a large vehicle at the construction site. Television images showed a large semi-truck with a long heavy equipment trailer parked at the scene.
The 22-year-old worker was killed after being run over by a trailer behind a truck his father was driving at a North Texas high school.
Troy Taylor of the Denton County medical examiner’s office tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram ( http://bit.ly/1O62ftM ) the when the accident happened Tuesday, the worker, Daniel Moran, was helping guide his father, who was driving a truck towing a tandem trailer.
Argyle Fire Chief Mac Hohenberger called it ”another tragic accident’ in almost ”the exact same spot’ where on Thursday, the framework of an indoor activity center under construction collapsed, killing a man.
Taylor said Moran and his father worked for a trucking company that was removing material from the collapse.
Public safety and school district officials were working Tuesday to gather information about what led to the latest death. No other injuries were reported Tuesday.
The accident comes shortly after the collapse this past Thursday of a building under construction at the high school. A 36-year-old construction worker identified at Julio Ledesma was killed when the structure fell.
