Flagler Construction Equipment recently hired Bill Cannon as its north Florida region manager operating from its Jacksonville, Fla. branch. Cannon brings with him more than 33 years of experience in the heavy construction equipment and rental industry. He started his career with Hertz Equipment Rental in 1978 and entered the heavy equipment side of the industry in 1980 with Ring Power Corporation. In the following years he has worked for another Caterpillar dealer and then two John Deere dealers prior to joining Flagler.

“The tractor business is all I know, I love it,” said Cannon. “The main thing I learned early and have not forgotten is this is a relationship business and that if you treat customers with respect and honesty the rest takes care of itself. Since joining Flagler, I have learned that the Volvo Construction Equipment Line has been one of the best kept secrets in the industry. Everyone knows about Volvo’s articulated trucks and loaders, but the rest of the product line is just as outstanding.”

In his new position Cannon is responsible for managing all operations of the Jacksonville branch and the north Florida territory of Flagler.

Recent additions to the sales department for the Flagler territory are David Peacock, Mark Litherland and Mark Hill. Peacock has 19 years of construction equipment sales experience and covers Duval, St. Johns, and Nassau counties in Florida along with Camden and Charlton counties in Georgia.

Litherland with 15 years of heavy equipment sales experience covers Marion, Alachua, Putnam, Flagler, Gilchrist, Levy, Dixie, Lafayette and Taylor counties in Florida.

Just joining Flagler is Hill. Hill has more than 40 years of heavy equipment experience with Ring Power Corporation beginning his career in product support, moving to machinery sales, and then into management. He will be working in machinery sales covering Baker, Bradford, Union, Columbia, Suwannee and Hamilton counties in Florida and Lowndes, Echols, Clinch and Ware counties in Georgia.

Flagler Construction Equipment is the Volvo dealer for the state of Florida and portions of southern Georgia. Corporate Headquarters are in Tampa, Fla., with branch offices in Fort Myers, Davie, Orlando and Jacksonville.
