Mike Kubas, vice president and general manager of power systems for Foley Incorporated, the Caterpillar dealer in North Jersey, Staten Island and Bermuda, announced the appointments of Joe Cotignola as customer support sales representative of Hudson, Essex and Union counties along with Bermuda and Bob Dahmer as the electrical power generation (EPG) technical communicator.

Cotignola started his career at Foley in 1985 in the forklift division as a sales representative, where he worked for two years until accepting the position of customer support representative (CSR) in the construction division. As CSR, he was responsible for providing product support sales to customers in his assigned territory, which involved counseling customers on products and services to help increase their productivity and profitability.

During his tenure, Cotignola demonstrated a keen knowledge of the business that translated into increased parts and service sales within his established client base.

As a customer support representative for power systems, Cotignola’s territory includes Hudson, Essex and Union counties. He also will have sales responsibility for Bermuda and will be in charge of the program management of Foley’s Authorized Marine Dealer (AMD) West End Yachts Ltd.

“I am confident that the experience he has gained in the construction division will enable him to quickly learn the power systems business, products and customers,” said Kubas.

Dahmer has more than 20 years of experience in the electrical engineering industry, including 15 years as project manager. From 1991 to 2003, he worked for Siemens Dematic in Warren, N.J., as project manager of electrical controls, where he was responsible for all project management and engineering duties pertaining to the design, fabrication, debugging, start-up and customer support of automated conveyor systems. In his most recent position, Dahmer worked for Present Beckman Coulter Inc., in Somerset, N.J., as an engineering project manager, where he was in charge of training domestic and international engineers, along with designing and developing current and future automated sample handling systems.

In his new position as EPG technical communicator for electric power generation technicians and customers, Dahmer will be responsible for communicating technical information to both internal and external customers, along with managing major field service start-ups and repairs and working with customers to solve technical problems.

“Bob’s vast experience dealing with customers, vendors and distributors in addition to his leadership make him a welcome addition to the organization,” said Kubas.
