Large, South American slugs have been spotted oozing up the central United States. Residents have reported large trails of slime running all over the place.

Susan Arendt, of Construction Equipment Guide, was quoted as saying, "Many South American slugs can reach lengths of nearly 1 foot."

Wall Street reacted today by pushing up the NASDAQ Salty 100 index up 40 points in active trading. Salt.com alone went up 84.2 points.
