Grove Gains Higher Profile in Guay Inc.’s Extensive Crane Fleet Throughout Canada

- Northeast Edition

Guay Inc. started out in Quebec City, Canada, in 1964 by its current owner, Jean-Marc Baronet. The company has expanded to seven locations serving Quebec, portions of Ontario, the Atlantic Provinces and the northern United States.

More than half of the Guay fleet of 320 cranes that range from 8 to 880 tons (7.2 to 792 t), are Grove. Recent additions include four TMS745E truck cranes, three RT760E rough-terrain cranes and a GMK5120B all-terrain crane. A number of its Grove RT755E rough-terrain cranes were recently at work on the Jacques-Cartier Bridge in Montreal, Canada.

Richard Ross, Guay operating manager, commented on the company’s Grove truck cranes. “Our crane operators are happy working with our new TMS745Es. They like the air-ride suspension system which makes for excellent highway travel.

“We’ve been pleased with our Grove machines and actually have one that is 26 years old and we can still count on it.”

Guay is further expanding its fleet. It is in the process of adding two 15-ton (13.5 t) YB4415 industrial cranes as well as the 350-ton (315 t) GMK6350 all-terrain crane, which will be the largest Grove crane in its fleet.

Grove has a North American and International presence with distribution in more than 125 countries on six continents.
