A great crowd turned out to bid on a selection of construction machines, trucks and miscellaneous equipment. Completely inspecting a LeeBoy 8510 paver are Mark Beasley (L) and Tommy McCravy of Complete Construction & Excavation, Athens, Ala. Joey Martin Auctioneers’ Tom Powell (R) welcomes customer and friend DeWayne Oakley of Oakley Equipment, Florence, Ala. Interested in some of the compact machines about to go on the auction block are Aaron Hahn (L) and Ed Harrell of K&H Realty, Macon, Ga. Checking fluids and the overall condition of a Komatsu PC200LC is John Banks, independent contractor based in Murphy, N.C. Guy Selinka (C) and Sean Jordan (R), both of Streamline Financial Services, Atlanta, Ga., were on hand to accommodate equipment financing needs. (L-R): Joey Martin, owner of Joey Martin Auctioneers; Mark Long, Southland Machinery, Leeds, Ala.; and Tom Powell, also of Joey Martin Auctioneers, talk about the rental machines consigned to the sale by Southland. Thomas Davis-Cox (L) and Grant Buck (R), both of Joey Martin Auctioneers, talk with prospective buyer Mike Rogers, an independent contractor based in Trinity, Ala., about a like-new Doosan DX140 LC excavator. Auction attendees sporting some rather fashionable hats on a hot Alabama summer day are Levi Walls (L) of Walls Do-All, Summerville, Ala., and Todd Ellis, Northside Equipment Sales, Arab, Ala.

What originally was slated to be a two-owner auction turned out to be a larger than expected, three-owner North Alabama auction for Joey Martin Auctioneers on Aug. 16. The sale, which featured low-hour late model mini and compact equipment, enjoyed a great turnout of contractors, dealers and farmers looking for some equipment deals, as well as a strong online Internet presence.

The next scheduled onsite sale for Joey Martin Auctioneers is coming up on Sep. 14 and 15 in Cope (Orangeburg), S.C.
