Hitachi Construction Equipment Loaders America (HCMA) has announced Highway Equipment, formerly Harter Equipment, as a Hitachi wheel loader distributor. Since 1933, Highway Equipment has maintained a legacy of success in the construction industry stretching over 85 years, and the Reynolds family-owned operation continues today under president Thomas Reynolds.

Highway Equipment has multiple branches across the Northeast, including Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina, but will be the primary HCMA dealer for New Jersey. Customers in these locales will now be able to rent and purchase the full line of Hitachi wheel loaders, ranging from .8 to 8.2 cu. yds. (.6 to 6.2 cu m)

Highway Equipment is one of America's leading sales, rental, parts, and service providers of highway, construction, oil and gas, mining, quarry and industrial material-handling equipment. Highway Equipment's advantage stems from dedicated people, a long history of industry experience, and the breadth of product, services, and knowledge offered, according to the company.

"Highway Equipment is honored to represent Hitachi in New Jersey. Hitachi is a world class brand and complements the equipment portfolio that Highway Equipment rents, sells and services in this market. Our customers and contractors will have great success with Hitachi wheel loaders and Highway's commitment to quality and support," said Highway Equipment President and Owner Thom Reynolds.

HCMA Senior Sales Manager Simon Wilson added, "We couldn't be more excited for Highway Equipment to join the Hitachi wheel loader family. Their rich history of focus and dedication to the customer and the full support they offer around the clock is key to their meeting their customers' needs. In the key market they serve, New Jersey, we were looking to have someone who could meet and exceed the customers' demands for wheel loaders.

"We definitely know what Highway Equipment provides and having them on board is going to make a difference in the market. They simply know how to get things done and they put the customer first. The Northeast is a key focus area for Hitachi wheel loaders, and as we are one of the fastest growing wheel loader companies in the country, it was crucial to add a quality dealer to the network that can support this region. We can't wait to get started and show the Northeast what Hitachi can do and what Highway Equipment can do with us."
