Hyundai Releases Interim Tier IV R25Z-9A Zero Swing Excavator

The excavator is ideal for tight, confined job sites in residential and urban settings.

- National Edition

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas Inc. R25Z-9A zero swing excavator provides operators with enhanced features and benefits compared to its prior model including a certified Interim Tier IV engine upgrade, improved hydraulics, increased operator comfort and added durability, according to the manufacturer.

The excavator is ideal for tight, confined job sites in residential and urban settings with applications ranging from landscape/hardscaping and light construction to light demolition, road and utility work. The R25Z-9A is part of Hyundai’s new line of 9A series excavators, all of which meet Tier IV Interim standards.

The 5,730 lb. (2,600 kg) R25Z-9 is powered by a 23 hp (17.2 kW) Interim Tier IV, Mitsubishi S3L2 engine. The machine boasts a dig depth of 7 ft. 11 in. (2.4 m), bucket digging force of 4,740 lbf (21.1 kN) and bucket capacity of .09 cu. yds. (.07 cu m). A dozer blade comes standard for light grading, backfilling and for stability while excavating.

The R25Z-9A offers a tail swing radius of 2 ft. 7 in. (.8 m) giving end-users easy, efficient operation on sites where space is limited. The compact size and low weight allows the R25Z-9A to be towable by a pickup.

Hyundai designed the hydraulic system to give the user super-fine touch and top-level controllability, allowing the excavator to be nimble and accurate while operating in congested areas.

The roomy cabin features slim, strong tubing for safety and visibility as well as increased storage. The operator’s station is fully customizable allowing the end-user to set their operating preferences to fit their individual needs. Some of these customizable options include an easy adjustable seat and wrist rest settings, foldable pedals that provide increased floor space and ergonomically located left and right control levers for convenient access.

Hyundai has improved the heavy duty upper frame to absorb high stress loads while the X-leg center frame and reinforced box section track frame provide added strength and longer service life.

The R25Z-9A offers long life hydraulic filters, hydraulic oil, shims and bushings which reduce operating costs over time. All components are designed for easy access and maintenance. Owners also get Hyundai’s total coverage warranty, which includes a three-year, 3,000-hour full machine warranty as well as a five-year, 10,000-hour structural warranty.
