As the construction industry continues to focus on performance, durability and sustainability, several leading concrete organizations are coming together to host a live educational webinar focused on slag cement and its growing role in modern construction.

Ohio Concrete, the Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA), Slag Cement Association (SCA), Kentucky Concrete Association (KCA) and National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) will present the live webinar, "Slag Cement: Enhancing Concrete Performance and Construction," on June 24, 2026, from 12 noon to 1 p.m.

The session will highlight how slag cement can improve concrete performance, durability and sustainability, while also covering how the material is produced, key benefits, industry considerations and available technical resources.

The webinar is designed for contractors, producers, engineers and construction professionals looking to stay current on evolving concrete technologies and sustainable building practices.

Nick Brimley, director of marketing and membership of the Slag Cement Association, will lead the presentation. Brimley brings more than a decade of experience in construction marketing, event promotion and industry outreach, including previous work with the American Concrete Institute.

Attendees also will have the opportunity to earn one CPD credit during the live session.

With growing demand for longer-lasting infrastructure and more sustainable construction materials, organizers believe the webinar will provide valuable insight into one of the industry's increasingly discussed concrete additives.
