Doosan Portable Power has named Hoffman Equipment as an authorized distributor. The company will supply Doosan Portable Power air compressors, generators, light towers and light compaction equipment throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Hoffman Equipment has been serving the construction, transportation and equipment industries for 100 years and has a strong presence in the Northeast markets.

Hoffman Equipment (Hoffman) is expanding its retail territory in the Northeast United States. The Piscataway, N.J.-based dealer is purchasing Penn-Jersey Machinery's assets and will start selling Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) products for the first time.

The Montgomery County Public Works Association held its Bi-Annual Trade Show Oct. 13 in Horsham Township, Pa. This event, sponsored by Municibid, marked the 50th anniversary of the association, which was founded in 1966 by Bill Stewart, who was in attendance and honored with a Pennsylvania State Legislature Proclamation and the PECO Crown Lights Award.

The Utility & Transportation Contractors Association of New Jersey (UTCA) held its 51st annual convention and trade show Sept. 29 through Oct. 2 at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, N.J. On Friday, Sept. 30, equipment dealers and construction services companies met with Garden State contractors (and contractors from neighboring states) during the trade show in the Borgata.

Industry veteran Jim Gill has been appointed regional branch manager/Fuchs specialist of Penn Jersey Machinery LLC. Located in the company's New Jersey/Staten Island, N.Y., office, Gill will help serve customers in the New Jersey, New York, eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland markets.

New Jersey heavy equipment dealers turned out in force March 1 to show their support for a potential Diesel/Equipment Technology program at Union Community College (UCC) in Cranford, N.J. Approximately 90 percent of the state's equipment dealers attended the event, which was intended as a discussion to gauge interest from local businesses in hiring graduates from such a program.
