Mack Defense is partnering with Jankel, a world-leader in the design and manufacture of high-specification defense protection systems, to provide the seating solution for the M917A3 heavy dump truck (HDT). NTEA – The Association for the Work Truck Industry announced it will not be possible to produce Work Truck Week in its traditional in-person format next year. North America's largest work truck event, originally scheduled March 9 to 12, 2021, in Indianapolis, includes The Work Truck Show and Green Truck Summit.

Mack Trucks announced a multi-year partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) that will see Mack donate proceeds from the sales of a limited edition production run of pink Mack Anthem diecast models. Mack made an initial donation of $10,000 to NBCF and will contribute up to $25,000 more over the next two years as sales of the unique diecast models continue.

Volvo Trucks North America was awarded $21.7 million in grants to deploy 70 VNR Electric trucks in Southern California for regional freight distribution and drayage. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Targeted Air Shed Grant Program is providing $20 million in funding, supplemented by $1.7 million from the South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) for charging infrastructure, to improve air quality in the region.

Blue Max Trucking is one of the first vocational fleets to add the PACCAR 12-speed automated transmission featuring vocational-specific calibrations. The company specified the PACCAR transmission in some of its new Kenworth T880s used in its dump division operations.

Mack Trucks has delivered a pre-production Mack LR Electric model to Republic Services to begin in-service trials in the demanding refuse segment. Mack will use key learnings from the trials to further refine the LR Electric as it prepares to accept orders for the truck in Q4 2020, with production beginning in 2021.

With the rapidly expanding interest in heavy-duty electric trucks, Hino Trucks and Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) have agreed to jointly develop a Class 8 fuel cell electric truck (FCET) for the North American market. The companies will leverage the newly developed Hino XL Series chassis with Toyota's fuel cell technology to deliver enhanced capability without harmful emissions.This collaboration expands upon the existing effort to develop a 25-ton FCET for the Japanese market, which was announced earlier this year.

The RITALKA family of companies announced its acquisition of Schwing's concrete truck mixer product line in the United States and Canada. Schwing has been a leading manufacturer of truck mixers and entered the American market in 1982 in White Bear, Minn.
