Wyoming Transportation Commission

The Wyoming Transportation Commission awarded Oftedal Construction Inc., of Casper, a $67 million contract for the Snake River South Project on U.S. 26/89/189/191. The commission awarded that and eight other contracts during its recent meeting. The Snake River South Project includes new pavement, additional lanes, turnouts, pathways, accommodations for wildlife and landscaping, as well as various other improvements from mileposts 141-145.

Crews will rehabilitate three interchanges near the Interstate 90 and 25 junction to improve pavement conditions. The Wyoming Transportation Commission awarded S & S Builders, of Gillette, a $3.9 million contract for slab and bridge work on a 3-mi. section of road near Buffalo in Johnson County.

Motorists will soon have a second way of getting in and out of Bar Nunn. The Wyoming Transportation Commission awarded 71 Construction, of Casper, a $6.8 million contract to construct a new interchange at Bar Nunn during its meeting in November. The commission awarded that and nine other contracts totaling $22.9 million.

The Wyoming Transportation Commission awarded a $13.9 million contract to reconstruct 2 mi. of WYO 789 (North Federal Boulevard) in the west-central city of Riverton in Fremont County, to make upgrades on a state road that has not had a major rebuild in three decades.

Construction crews will start preliminary work on a $9 million paving and rehabilitation project on 7 mi. (11 km) of Interstate 80 west of Cheyenne this summer. The Wyoming Transportation Commission awarded Knife River of Cheyenne the contract for the work near Otto Road in Laramie County during its meeting on Jan.

Construction will continue on the new interchange on I-90 north of Sheridan during the winter months. The work is part of the $46.4 million North Sheridan Interchange Project, which consists of replacing the existing interchange with a new diamond interchange about a mile north on I-90.
