JCB hosted its third annual Savannahfest the week of Oct. 13 through 17 at its North American headquarters and manufacturing plant in Savannah, GA. Since it began, the event has been an opportunity for hundreds of JCB customers to come to Savannah with their local JCB dealer to tour the plant, operate equipment, experience the equipment show, get to know the people behind the scenes at the company and enjoy lots of good food and entertainment.
This year, JCB representatives had the opportunity to spotlight the new-generation JS220 excavator, the new 520-40 Loadall compact telescopic handler, the micro excavator and micro plus mini excavator, and the TD7 and TD10 dumpster, which were just introduced at the September ICUEE show in Louisville, KY. Other product refinements that were prevalent at this year’s event included new cab designs for the Loadalls, new hydraulic fans and Z-bar linkage on the 456ZX wheel loaders, and new precision controls for the backhoe loaders.
Those in attendance were treated to a round of golf in the Savannah area and a riverboat dinner cruise the day prior to the show. With five consecutive program days, attendance exceeded 500 throughout the week. Representatives from 29 North American and Latin American JCB distributorships accompanied their customers to the event.
