JM Wood Auction Company Inc., based in Montgomery, Ala., recently announced the addition of George Massey to its staff as territory manager of Tennessee and Kentucky.

Massey began his career in the industry more than 20 years ago and has vast experience in many aspects of the business. For the first five years of his career, he worked in construction equipment sales for John Deere and Cat dealers in various areas in Tennessee. Afterwards, Massey spent seven years with a major excavating contractor, and, for the last 10 years, worked in the auction business with Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers and IronPlanet.

Over the years, Massey said he has come to know Russ and Bryant Wood, as well as the entire staff of JM Wood Auction, and has gained a tremendous respect and admiration for the company.

"JM Wood has a tremendous reputation, and the company has the kind of people who simply enjoy what they do," said Massey. "That's what drew me to this organization. They're a group of good honest people with a terrific reputation and good character. They have the 'personal touch' in all that they do and are very in tune with their customer's needs. It's just a true team environment — not corporate environment."

"We are extremely excited to welcome George to the JM Wood Auction family," said Russ Wood of JM Wood Auction Company. "We have followed and respected George's career for a long time and it will be a lot of fun having him on board. He is a fierce competitor and loves the industry."
