“Online bidding was very strong at this auction,” said Bryant Wood, president of JM Wood.

JM Wood held a three-day auction June 7 to 9 in Montgomery, Ala. More than $31 million of construction equipment was sold on the auction ramp and more than $5 million sold online. Buyers participated from several countries, including the United States, Canada, Vietnam, Sweden, Panama, Mexico, Malaysia and Ecuador

"Online bidding was very strong at this auction," said Bryant Wood, president of JM Wood. "We sold about 18 percent online, which is a little misleading, because the internet was the backup bidder all day pushing the crowd to bid more."

Featured sellers included counties and cities from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee as well as a one-owner retirement auction for Alex Incorporated of Birmingham, Ala.

"They did us a fine job," said Deloma Walters of Alex Incorporated. "Joe and I have been doing business with JM Wood for years. We scaled back a few years ago and JM Wood did our auction then with great results. When it came time to finally retire we called our friends at JM Wood to handle it for Joe and myself."

JM Wood's next auction is Sept. 20 to 22 in Montgomery, Ala.
