Joseph L. “Jo Jo,” Gomer lost a battle to cancer June 22, 2010. He was 63.

Mr. Gomer was preceded in death by his father, Earl G. Gomer; and sister, Sherry G. Hess. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Adcock Gomer; daughters, Jennifer Vass (husband, Drew) and Tammy Jo Gomer; and a granddaughter, Carter Vass; his friend and mother of their children, Donna Gomer; wife, Sandy Blount; his brother, Edward Gomer; and many other family members, employees and friends.

Mr. Gomer had a long and successful career with his company, J.L. Gomer Equipment Company Inc., where he was well respected and known for his word and as a man of honor.

Mr. Gomer had a long history of community service, donating his time, money and equipment to many causes, especially those involving children.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
