J.W. Burress Names Dudley President

J. W. Burress Inc. announced on Jan. 1, 2000 that Richard Dudley has been appointed president and chief executive officer. Dudley succeeds John W. Burress III who will become chairman of the company.

Dudley, a certified public accountant, was employed by Andrews, Burket, and Company before joining the company in 1978 and initially serving as controller. He soon became treasurer of J. W. Burress Inc. and in 1990 assumed the additional title of executive vice president, responsible for credit, banking, insurance, retail financing, and the used equipment department.

J. W. Burress Inc. sells, rents, and services construction equipment, including Grove and National cranes, Hitachi and Daewoo excavators, Reedrill, Dynapac rollers, Gradall excavators, etc. Burress’ markets cover Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
