Kenworth of Pennsylvania has opened a new parts and service facility in McKees Rocks, an industrial area and suburb 4 mi. west of downtown Pittsburgh.

"We anticipate great interest in this new location from many businesses in downtown Pittsburgh seeking a better, more convenient option to obtain parts and service support for their trucks," said Chris Sipes, Kenworth of Pennsylvania vice president and branch manager of the Pittsburgh and New Stanton locations. "We’ve outfitted a Kenworth truck as a mobile service unit and will run it from our new, Kenworth of Pennsylvania — Pittsburgh location to provide fleet customers with parts delivery and remote services."

The new dealership is located in the heart of Pittsburgh’s industrial area near the intersection of Neville Avenue and Pennsylvania Route 51, adjacent to the Ohio River and less than a mi. from U.S. Interstates 79 and 279 and 2 mi. east of U.S. Interstate 379. Route 51, which follows the Ohio River, is a major local arterial route through Pittsburgh’s industrial area.

Besides the Pittsburgh dealership, Kenworth of Pennsylvania operates seven additional locations in Carlisle, Clintonville, Dunmore, Lancaster, New Stanton, Shartlesville and York, Pa.

The newly renovated facility is located on 4 acres at 67 Neville Ave. in McKees Rocks. It offers two drive-through service bays with enough room to service up to eight trucks, has nearly 2,000 sq.-ft. of parts display and storage well-stocked with Kenworth proprietary and TRP all-makes parts, and includes a comfortable driver’s lounge with a vending area.

"The McKees Rocks area is seeing significant economic revitalization. The city has a steel finishing plant, warehouses along the Ohio River, and trucks moving freight — that is unloaded off river barges — to the ports, distribution centers, warehouses and other facilities," Sipes said.

Kenworth of Pennsylvania — Pittsburgh, is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. The phone number is 412/778-0160. Rick Klavon is service manager and Bruce Pinchock is acting parts manager. The new location also offers rental trucks and full-service leasing through PACCAR Leasing (PacLease). Jay White is the local PacLease representative and Mike Wiseman is the PacLease franchise manager.

"This new parts and service location coupled with Kenworth’s latest product offerings — including the Kenworth T680, T880 and enhanced K270 and K370 cabovers — will help us generate interest in Kenworth trucks among Pittsburgh area businesses," Sipes said. "With PACCAR engine certified technicians and PACCAR MX-13 and PACCAR PX engine parts support, we also anticipate greater interest in what PACCAR engines have to offer."

The new parts and service dealership and PacLease franchise is part of the Kenworth dealer network of more 345 locations in the United States and Canada.
