Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. recently promoted JD Young as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Young came to Kirby-Smith in April 2015 as a Controller. He was then quickly promoted to the CFO position in June 2015, after former CFO Keith Tippett retired. Young has spent the past 13+ years with a Dallas-based machinery dealer and has held the CFO position at three previous companies as well.

“I’ve inherited a very strong and impressive finance and accounting department,” said Young. “I would like to build on this strong foundation by enhancing the usefulness of our financial reporting. I enjoy helping to make financial information come alive to the various stakeholders and will work to enhance various areas of our reporting.”

Young has a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M. He has been married to his wife for 23-years and they have four children. Young enjoys running with his wife and children. The family is actively involved in their church and their children’s athletic activities.
