The White House is currently in the midst of various renovations and updates as President Trump and his staff vacated the West Wing for 17 days.

Two Link-Belt cranes were spotted in front of the White House this week as crews began construction work on both the interior and exterior.

The list of projects, approved under President Obama, includes:

• Replacing the HVAC system

• Restoring the South Portico steps on the South Lawn (the last time they were restored, Eisenhower was President)

• Renovating the Navy mess kitchen

• Refurbishing the lower lobby

• Painting the interior

• Updating the IT system, and

• Replacing carpeting and curtains.
