Manitowoc Crane Group has announced Robert M. Hund is joining its executive team as vice president, Worldwide Marketing. Hund brings more than 18 years experience to the post and will be responsible for strategic planning, direction, and execution of marketing functions. He succeeds and will report to Larry Bryce, who was promoted in October to the new role of vice president, Business Development of the Crane Group.

At Manitowoc Crane Group, Hund will work closely with the executive team, regional leadership, and sales and marketing teams to set and implement global market penetration efforts across all product lines. His focus will be on all aspects of marketing at the Crane Group, which include product marketing, marketing communications, and operational marketing. He also will be responsible for leading the global new product development team.

Hund comes to Manitowoc having spent the past 18 years at Caterpillar Inc. in a variety of roles. He began his career as a manufacturing and systems engineer and later transitioned to marketing working with construction and mining trucks. He served in international assignments for Caterpillar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Munich, Germany.

Hund’s duties also included a post as Six Sigma Division Champion for Caterpillar’s Mining and Construction Equipment Division, where he managed a team of Master Black Belts and was responsible to coach and mentor hundreds of Black Belts and Green Belts.

Most recently, Hund was the global product development manager of motorgraders, quarry and mining trucks, and earthmoving scrapers and created a team of internal and external people focused on design collaboration across the enterprise.
