Modern Handling Equipment of New Jersey Inc., part of the Modern Group, has announced the promotion of Tom Plank to the position of used equipment manager.

In his new position, Plank will help customers with their used equipment needs, remarketing trade-in units and conduct trade-in surveys.

“I have been with Modern for 19 years. I started out as a truck driver and then moved into the parts department and then held positions as shop mechanic, road mechanic, road supervisor, shop supervisor and now used equipment manager. I have worked with all the different departments within Modern and I know what it takes to get the job done and get it done right,” said Plank.

Plank’s goal as the used equipment manager is “to provide complete customer satisfaction — for a long time” at Modern’s location in North Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.

“Modern is a great company to work for. I started working for Modern when I was 23 years old and hope to work for Modern until I’m ready to retire,” Plank said.

The Modern Group, headquartered in Bristol, PA, serves the Mid-Atlantic Region.
