Montabert offers a variety of hydraulic drifter models and configurations to match the hydraulic performance of a specific carrier — skid steer loader, backhoe loader or excavator — as well as the conventional top hammer drilling application — bolting, benching tunneling or long hole. Montabert hydraulic drifters conform to OEM requirements and can be adapted to most drills in the marketplace.
Recognized for their extended service intervals and low tool consumption, Montabert hydraulic drifters control the impact and rotation of the drill bit — delivering high drill performance, including straight hole drilling, according to the manufacturer.
The hydraulic drifters’ piston design generates progressive blow energy, improving bit penetration and the transmission of energy at the couplings — minimizing stress within the drilling rods, as well.
Additional features include a hydraulic dampening system that absorbs reflected energy while ensuring constant energy to the tool and an energy recovery valve that applies piston rebound energy to the subsequent blow — both protecting the hydraulic drifter and tools from damage.
An optional hydraulic reverse percussion system enables true back hammering. This added feature allows operators to extract tools from fragmented ground and rest assured that no rods have been left in the hole.
