The Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) held its Design & Construction Expo on Feb. 12 and 13, at the Silverdome in Pontiac, MI, with its co-sponsors the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) of Michigan.

More than 10,400 attended the show, which featured approximately 266 exhibitors showing off a variety of products from architectural materials and heavy equipment to CAD systems, financial solutions, estimating services, office equipment and everything in between.

According to Ron Riegel, CAM manager of expositions, “There was a full spectrum of products and services for the construction industry.”

A new feature highlighting this year’s show was “Architectural Alley,” a special section dedicated to exhibitors with products and information for architects, engineers, specification writers and designers.

The association’s expanded education program was very favorable with attendees, Riegel noted. There was an array of courses and seminars on many topics including Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater. The presentation was given by Tom Krynski, of PPG, and Tim Ford, of CSI.

Exhibitors distributed more than 300,000 tickets to their customers, with Burke Equipment Co. winning CAM’s contest by bringing in the most attendees with their tickets.

The CAM Design & Construction Expo slated for 2004 will be held Feb. 4 and 5 in the Silverdome.
