Rick Waldrop, Rick’s Construction & Paving,  Providence Forge, Va., checked over several compaction machines and thought this Cat CP433C would meet his needs. Jake Stanley, Heavy Equipment & Logistics, Bumpass, Va., was interested in the Komatsu dozer and a Cat excavator. George Hambleton (L), Olde-Time Excavating Inc., and Davis Mellott, Southeastern Equipment Corporation, Chesapeake, Va., came to the sale to buy a few machines and to see who was bidding. Having a golf cart comes in handy when it reaches 100 degrees. Robby (L) and Rick Rogerson, V.C. Enterprises, in Surry, Va., use the cart to beat the heat. They came to look and maybe buy a few air compressors. Tony Thompson, Thompson Welding, needed an older crane for an upcoming project and checked over this 25-ton 1979 Link-Belt rough- terrain crane. The sale included a good selection of small excavators including this Bobcat machine. (L-R): Zack Thoman,, McGrew Equipment, Seven Valleys, Pa., was set to operate the machine while Merrill Layden and Charles Carter, both of Atlantic Earth Works, West Poi Lonnie Marshall (L) and Travis Purviance, both of Extara Clearing, Charlottesville, Va., were in the market to buy a chipper and were in the process of inspecting this CMI Maxigrind 460G. Jeremy Hooks (L) catches the high bid on the John Deere 755C crawler loader while Bill Fischer looks over the next few pieces going up for bid.

Motley Auction & Realty group held a successful two-day auction at its permanent facility at 3600 Deepwater Terminal Rd., Richmond, Va., on Aug. 12 and 13.

Day one featured both live and online bidding on construction equipment and trucks. Items for sale came from the Commonwealth of Virginia as well as several contractors and dealers. Day two was online only and also included agricultural and landscaping equipment.
