The Omaha, Neb., branch of Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co. Inc., has named a new service manager, Chris Davis.
Davis was self-employed for 15 years before overseeing more than 21 technicians at an engine distributor.
“I was attracted to Murphy Tractor because of their reputation and the John Deere brand. Working with great technicians and staff, and continuing to make a positive impact on product support in the construction equipment industry, is something I look forward to,” said Davis.
Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co. Inc., has hired Marcus Thompson as new territory sales manager of Des Moines, Iowa. Thompson has worked for the Des Moines, Iowa, store as a rental manager since 2009. In his new role, he will be responsible for the sale, rental and leasing of all new and used heavy construction equipment, attachments and trailers, in the central Iowa area.
“From his experience as rental manager for the preceding three years, Marcus has developed an understanding of the needs of the Iowa contractors he will be serving,” said Rick Yeager, branch manager. “He has also gained a thorough knowledge of the entire product line served by our company. Marcus’ positive attitude, coupled with a drive to serve our customers, will be an asset, while performing his new duties,” he added.
Chris Mears has been named branch manager of two Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co., Inc., locations: Canton, Ohio, and Poland, Ohio. He has more than six years of product support experience, specifically in training, oil analysis, customer support advisor management, IT4 technology and JDLink, at a John Deere construction dealership, and sales experience in mining supply equipment.
Mears is a Certified Equipment Support Professional, and he has multiple John Deere product support certifications. “This increased management focus, and Chris’ considerable local experience and industry knowledge, will enable us to better serve our customers, and continue to grow our business in the important metro areas of Akron, Canton and Youngstown.” said Mike Slinger, midwest region manager.
