Alban Engine Power Systems (AEPS), established in 1972 as a division of Alban tractor, a Caterpillar dealer for 75 years, hosted an open house on Sept. 20 and 21 at its Elkridge, MD, headquarters. Located at 6387 Old Washington Blvd. it is conveniently located near the Baltimore Beltway and Interstate 95.

Nearly 1,000 guests were treated to a barbecue lunch, visits from the Baltimore Orioles’ and the Baltimore Ravens’ mascots, a look at the Caterpillar race car and a chance for door prizes. A tour of the new 86,000-sq.-ft. addition to the existing 30,000-sq.-ft. facility featured its 19-bay, air-conditioned, truck service shop. In addition, some customers showed-off their vehicles with Caterpillar engines.

“This was a perfect time for us to host an open house,” explained Eric Payne, engine marketing coordinator of Alban. “We always participate in them. We go to the dealers. We go to the contractors, but we wanted to showcase all that we can do here at Alban Engine. The reason we’re having this day is because many of our customers small and large, even after 30 years, didn’t realize that not only do we sell bulldozers, excavators and front end loaders, but also generators and engines.”

In addition, the company offers a comprehensive factory certified engine training program for area businesses and industry including: telecommunications, biomedical, construction, power utilities, manufacturing and public/civil service.

The primary services offered at AEPS are: sales and rental coverage, parts availability, and service.

“Alban Engine began its expansion of the facility in April of 2000,” said Mike Lewis, vice president of AEPS. “This location offers greater opportunities for all of our area Caterpillar customers to have access to factory-trained and certified technicians.”
