Construction Equipment Guide

A two-year, $18.7 million project to improve the intersection of Ogden Avenue (U.S. 34) at Cicero Avenue (IL 50) in the community of Cicero has been completed, said the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The project involved building a new Ogden Avenue bridge over Cicero Avenue, constructing a new 8-lane connector road between Ogden and Cicero, realigning Ogden Ave. with a new viaduct under the BNSF railroad, and the reconstruction of 25th Place and 26th Street. In addition, new interconnected traffic signals will help move traffic through this intersection.

All lanes are now open, but crews will implement temporary, off-peak lane closures to finish minor work and other clean up activities.

The project was funded by Governor George H. Ryan’s Illinois FIRST program. Ganna Construction of Itasca was the contractor.
