Members of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Toledo Chapter got behind the controls of construction equipment during the "Boots and Booms" event hosted by Ohio CAT on June 23, 2026, at the company's Perrysburg, Ohio, facility.
The hands-on event gave participants the opportunity to climb into the operator's seat of a variety of construction machines while learning about equipment operation in a safe, controlled environment. Designed to introduce more women to careers in the construction industry, the evening focused on building confidence and providing real-world exposure to heavy equipment.
The event highlighted Ohio CAT's commitment to workforce development and its ongoing support of organizations that encourage women to explore careers in construction. It also provided NAWIC members with valuable insight into the equipment, technology and skilled professionals that help build and maintain infrastructure throughout the region.
By combining hands-on learning with networking opportunities, Boots and Booms offered participants an engaging introduction to the construction industry while strengthening relationships between industry professionals and the next generation of equipment operators.
