Construction Equipment Guide

As of May 2012, Brian Serio has been named Patten CAT’s new industrial/environmental specialist.

This recently created position places an enhanced focus on customers that serve in the industrial/environmental markets. This new focus is in alignment with Caterpillar’s new industrial/waste division, which was formed in January 2012.

Serio has been with Patten for more than five years. In his previous role with Patten, he served as the credit and finance manager. This position provided Serio with an opportunity to learn about Patten’s customers and products while continuing to strengthen the partnerships that Patten has built over the last 79 years. His understanding of Patten’s customer’s “bottom line” is sure to provide additional insight as he strives to go above and beyond to meet the needs of its industrial and environmental customers, according to the company.

In this new role, Serio’s focus will be on providing the solutions and support needed to not only get the job done both efficiently and effectively.

The combined commitment from Patten and Caterpillar will bring a wide array of product and service solutions to the following industrial/environmental markets:

• Waste (Landfill/Transfer Stations)

• Metal Products (Steel Mills)

• Recycling, Sorting, Material Processing

• Ports/Waterways

• Scrap Handling

• Demolition

Caterpillar has formed an alliance with Exodus Machines Inc. out of Superior, Wisc., bringing new additions to the Caterpillar material handler product line.

The Caterpillar/Exodus material handler is a purpose built, scrap handling product designed to efficiently increase production while keeping the operator and all other employee’s safety in mind. This product is powered by the fuel efficient Caterpillar C9 engine and is currently available in two models.
