Paugh Takes Helm as New President of Nortrax South

- Southeast Edition

Chuck Paugh, former director of sales with Empire Machinery in Phoenix, AZ, has been named the president of Nortrax Equipment Company - South, a subsidiary of Nortrax II, which is a new joint venture between John Deere Construction Equipment Company (JDCEC) and CSFB Private Equity.

Paugh, who began his career with Deere, will be based at Nortrax offices in Memphis, TN.

Nortrax II consolidates, develops and manages Deere construction equipment dealerships.

Nortrax South recently acquired Barton Equipment Company Inc., a Memphis-based John Deere construction and forestry equipment dealership with five locations in western Tennessee, northeastern Arkansas and northern Mississippi.

“We are very happy to welcome Chuck back into the Deere family,” said Bob Brock, Nortrax board member. “We are fortunate to have someone with his background and experience take the reins of Nortrax South. He has the leadership and vision to strengthen and grow our organization, which in turn will provide better solutions for our customers’ needs.”

Paugh is a 26-year veteran of the construction equipment industry, the last 20 years spent with Empire, where he served in sales management positions and as general manager of the company’s power systems division. Prior to his tenure at Empire, Paugh was a sales representative with Neff Machinery in Broward County, FL. He started as a sales instructor and writer at Deere’s Dubuque, IA, manufacturing facility. He later became territory manager for central and southern Florida, responsible for dealer development.
