Pinnacle Cranes Expands in North Carolina

Recognizing the importance of branching out to meet its clients needs, North Carolina’s Pinnacle Cranes has opened a new service facility in Raleigh. The expansion was made official the first of January 2013.

“This will allow us to better serve our crane customers in the eastern part of the state,” said Jim Mackinson, Pinnacle Cranes vice-president and general manager. “The facility will enable us to provide local service and parts support for the Link-Belt, Shuttlelift, Elliott and Manitex cranes.”

Established in 2001 as the crane division of Carolina Tractor, Pinnacle Cranes offers one of the Southeast’s largest crane inventories of new, used and rental equipment, providing vehicles for every construction crane and related industry application needed. Rough terrain, hydraulic truck cranes, crawlers, all-terrain and carry decks are included in the inventory.

Pinnacle Cranes is the authorized dealer in North and South Carolina for Link-Belt cranes, Manitex cranes, Elliott boom trucks and hi-reach trucks and Shuttlelift industrial carry deck cranes. Maintaining a large crane rental fleet and new crane inventory allows delivery on a timely basis.

As the North Carolina crane division of Carolina Tractor, Pinnacle Cranes provides its customers with the services of numerous branches for crane components, in addition to Cat engines and Hydraulics Express hydraulic repair services.

Mackinson, who has three decades of experience in the field and is active in numerous crane industry associations, believes customer focus begins with having the right team in place. Pinnacle Cranes’ staff includes product specialists who are highly trained and have many years in the business.

Dave Burkard, lead technician for the area, will oversee day-to-day operations at the new facility, while sales veteran John Dozier will handle all sales and rental needs in the Raleigh area, along with any service follow-up. Plans call for another technician to be added at a future date.

With more than 15 years’ experience in the crane industry — 11 of them working on Link-Belt cranes — Burkard pointed out, “Since moving to the Raleigh area and establishing a local office and yard, we as a company can better serve the local customers. By adding an additional service tech that lives in the Raleigh area, Pinnacle Cranes will be able to serve its local customers with a faster response time at a reduced cost. By providing a team of highly trained and experienced technicians, Pinnacle Cranes has shown a strong commitment to providing top-notch service for its customers.”

According to Dozier, “My responsibilities include sales and rentals of Link-Belt, Manitex and Shuttlelift products. A major part of my job is in the follow-up and involvement with our parts and service segments in the eastern North Carolina/South Carolina territory, in addition to the day-to-day management of the Raleigh facility. I want to make sure that customers are satisfied with every aspect of our business. We at Carolina CAT/Pinnacle Cranes have a major goal in being customer-focused. I’m passionate about doing the job well, with integrity. With 26 years in this industry, my customers are not just customers — they’re business partners and friends.”

As for the expansion, Dozier said it was necessary in order to better serve the company’s large client base in eastern North Carolina/South Carolina.

“Raleigh/Durham is the second largest market in our territory, and we are confident that by opening here, we can improve on what we are already doing well. Feedback is very important, and so far, our customers are very excited about our increased presence here.”

Dozier also stressed the value of experience in the industry.

“The customer has given you their trust when they make any investment, especially a large one like a crane, and they need to know that you have the knowledge and ability to make them profitable. Customer commitment and integrity are important, because we look to partner with our customers to serve them in helping them to grow their businesses through superior products and back-up. In order for that to happen, they need to trust us in knowing that we will always have their best interest at heart.”

Dedicated to building lasting relationships with its customers, Pinnacle Cranes is committed to achieving its strategic goals while doing what’s right. Accountability and adaptability are part of the company’s mission.

The staff is proud of its recent accomplishments and commitment to overall excellence.

Added Mackinson, “Pinnacle Cranes is a crane-focused company. Our team has more than 368 years of total crane experience. We received the ’Top 5’ Link-Belt dealer award for 2012 and are gearing up to continue on as the leading crane dealer in the Carolinas.”
