The compact Powerscreen Fines Master 120 sand recovery and dewatering unit can produce either one or two grades of sand and eliminate saleable material from discharging to the pond system.
The unit includes variable-speed twin bucket wheels (0 to 3.3 rpm), a rubber-lined centrifugal slurry pump, twin hydro cyclones, weir discharge to a collection tank, and a 12 by 5 ft. (3.6 by 1.5 m) high frequency dewatering screen — all mounted on a road-portable, pit-portable or stationary chassis.
The bucket wheels recover 80 percent of the product to the dewatering screen, which is fitted with 0.02 in. (0.05 cm) polyurethane mats that dewater the product. The screen has a split deck, which enables the one or two products to be produced. Twin hydro cyclones recover the remaining 20 percent of product, also to the dewatering screen.
The Fines Master 120 provides 96 to 98 percent recovery of all material above 200 mesh and 100 percent above 100 mesh. Unlike sand screws, which lose high volumes of saleable product, the Fines Master 120 is specifically designed to ensure that no saleable product is lost to the pond system. Typically the moisture content of the material is 10 to 15 percent (by weight), leaving it ready for loading and dispatch. Further, a major reduction in saleable material discharging to settling ponds produces greater profits and cuts pond maintenance costs.
Towing dimensions of the road-portable model are: 31-ft. length, 9-ft. width, and 13-ft. height (9.4 by 2.7 by 3.9 m). Total weight is 15 tons (13.6 t) and the unit has a 5th wheel. The unit folds down from operation mode to road-legal transport mode in minutes.
