FAE USA Inc., Flowery Branch, Ga., recently introduced the U.S. market to its PrimeTech PT-200 prime mover. The machine made its debut at the Sunbelt Ag Show in Moultrie, Ga., from Oct 14 to 16. The introduction of the PT-200 follows the successful launch of the PrimeTech PT-400 at the beginning of the year.

The PT-200 comes in both a standard and an LGP model and is powered by a John Deere 6068HF485 diesel engine with 180 hp (134 kw). The standard model has an FAE 200/U-140 attachment with a 55-in. (139.7 cm) cutter head and the LGP model has an FAE 200/U-200 attachment cutter head of 79 in (200 cm). The track width on the standard machine is 20 in. (50.8 cm) and has a ground pressure rating of 4.90 psi. The LGP machine has a track width of 28 in. (71 cm) and reduces the ground pressure to 3.60 psi.

Both models work well on difficult terrain, due to the Berco oscillating undercarriage, which adapts perfectly to uneven surfaces, according to the manufacturer. The hydraulic system is equipped with Sauer Danfoss pumps and motors for track and front attachment drives, which the manufacturer said provides a greater lifting range for the front attachment and fewer vibrations, resulting in less strain and wear on the machine and its components.

A spacious cab design makes operator comfort a priority with wide visibility, an easily viewed instrument panel and easy to reach ergonomically arranged controls. The manufacturer offers high efficiency and low maintenance costs to round out the PT-200’s list of features. CEG
