The Recycling Association of NC (RANC) held its annual meeting and government affairs update on Aug 12. The association serves as the state-wide nonprofit trade association for those involved in the metals recycling industry in North Carolina. The association, which features both public and private businesses, includes scrap recyclers, equipment vendors, and service providers. RANC aims to provide a means of communication between the association and all other groups interested in or affected by the metals recycling industry.

RANC's mission is to promote a positive image and perception of the scrap industry. The association works hard to promote a positive image through education, outreach and relationship building with legislators, law enforcement, other associations and the general public.

RANC helps to educate and train its members on current and potential legislation and regulatory issues. This holds true on local and state levels, as well as nationally through RANC's association with ISRI, the national nonprofit trade association for the recycling industry.
