Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers has announced the successful completion of a two-day unreserved auction in Morris, IL. Over the two days, Dec. 5 and 6, 2000, gross auction sales exceeded $20 million with 482 buyers at the company’s auction facility in Morris, just outside of Chicago.
Registered bidders totaling 1,390 came from 40 states and several countries to bid on the 1,388 unreserved items in this Ritchie Bros. auction. Crawler tractors, wheel loaders, motor graders, and trucks and trailers were among the items auctioned.
This two-day unreserved auction marked the fourth auction in 2000 at the Morris site. “We’re pleased to be able to provide this service not only to our customers in the local area but also to our many customers who travel to come to our auctions,” said Nick Nicholson, regional manager of the Great Lakes region for Ritchie Bros.
There are currently 17 upcoming unreserved auctions on Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers’ calendar. The next sale to be held in Morris is scheduled for March 2001.
On Dec. 7, Ritchie Bros. held the 2,000th auction in its history. Since its first industrial auction in 1963, Ritchie Bros. has sold more than $10 billion worth of trucks and equipment at unreserved auctions in 19 countries.
