Wyoming officials say a scenic byway is finally ready to be reopened.

The Laramie Boomerang reports (http://bit.ly/2qgqcMH ) the Wyoming Department of Transportation expects to open the Snowy Range Scenic Byway on Memorial Day weekend. The department spent several weeks clearing the pass that crosses the Medicine Bow Mountain Range in southern Wyoming.

Work on the bypass suffered a slight setback after last week's spring snowstorm. Department Public Relations Specialist Matt Murphy says only 6 inches on snow piled on the pass, which allowed the crews to stay ahead of their Memorial Day target date.

The bypass typically closes in November.—AP
