The Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA), held its 17th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium June 18 through 21 in Columbus, Ohio.

Warren Anderson (L) and Katie Pullen of Case Construction Equipment present the company’s Hi-Flo snow blower attachment mounted to a Case SR250 skid steer loader. Steve Huml of Burns JCB was on hand at the JCB equipment display to discuss the company’s snow and ice removal equipment. Western Snow Plows held a raffle for a one-of-a-kind military-themed WIDE-OUT snowplow, with profits donated to the nonprofit arm of American Veterans Traveling Tribute. Western brought in some of its employee veterans to help out at the show. Meyer Product’s Peter Robison had several new products to discuss at the show, including the Meyer Diamond Edge snow plow and additional sizing options for its Road Pro series. Ariens Company District Managers Keith Darding (L) and Tim Schuh were kept busy talking to clients at their exhibit.

The Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA), held its 17th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium June 18 through 21 in Columbus, Ohio. The 2014 event featured two keynote speakers, bestselling author John DiJulius, who gave a talk on providing exceptional customer service, and sales expert Marc Wayshak, who presented a talk on winning sales techniques for a new economy.

The event combined 21 educational sessions with an industry trade show where more than 130 exhibitors showcased the latest in products, equipment and services including snowplows and spreaders, deicing materials, software systems, trucks, as well as compact and large equipment. Educational sessions covered topics ranging from emerging technologies, safe practices and personnel management to sales and marketing techniques.

The national event brought together snow and ice management professionals, industry suppliers, and snow and ice product consumers.
