Simple Design Yields Line of Efficient, Reliable Breakers

- Northeast Edition

New technology doesn’t have to be complicated. In most cases, a streamlined design can yield the best results, according to Breaker Technology Inc. (BTI). Its full line of hydraulic breakers is constructed with only two internal moving parts. The result is fewer total parts and fewer problems.

The BTI technology simplifies every aspect of the breaker’s construction:

• New throttle orificing — protects the carrier from unique pressure pulsations.

• Increased oil flow working range — allows the same breakers to be mounted to a wide range of equipment. This includes a variety of applications, including skid steer, rubber tire backhoe and excavator.

• Nitrogen cushion chamber — low pressure nitrogen gas absorbs piston recoil and increases output on the next blow.

• Easily accessible control valve and short tie rods — yield longer life and higher equipment reliability.

• Long piston design and dual retainer pins — ensure positive tool alignment and easy tool replacement.

• Deep-sectioned front head with machined, reinforced mounting plates — withstands side loading and reduces tie rod problems.

• Anti-blank firing — prevents the piston from contacting the tool when not against material.

Made from high-grade steel, all of BTI’s high-performance hydraulic breakers in the extensive line are engineered for long life, low maintenance and high productivity. Available in 16 sizes, from 778 to 60,048 N (175 to 13,500 ft/lbs), BTI can deliver job-specific models for any application.
