Ultra series angle blades from SnowWolf give contractors a cutting-edge experience when it comes to efficient and cost-effective snow removal. By simply pinning on the WolfWing side wing kit, contractors can improve productivity by up to 50 percent. Customers’ lots are cleared faster, providing better service, allowing contractors to be off to the next job, in half the time. This innovative angle plow system saves contractors time and money by eliminating windrows and the need for additional passes, according to the manufacturer.

To show this improvement in lot clearing efficiency, SnowWolf has developed a video animation, that, for the first time, shows a side-by-side comparison of a skid steer with a snow pusher and a skid steer equipped with an ultra series angle blade with WolfWings. Each machine starts at the same time, to clear the same space in a commercial parking lot. The real-time, head-to-head lot clearing results are dramatic. Ultra series blades come in five widths ranging from 6 to 10 ft. (1.8 to 3 m) and attach easily to small or large skid steers and utility loaders that range from 4,000 to 14,000 lbs. (1,814 to 6,350 kg). Offering a 35-degree plowing angle and tight moldboard curvature, snow rolls off these blades. And, since less horsepower is needed to push snow, fuel costs are reduced.

In addition, the blades can oscillate up to 6 in. (15 cm) to adjust to the contours of plowing surfaces and evenly wear the cutting edges. Each ultra series blade also features a 9-in. (22.8 cm) tall trip edge that eliminates false tripping, common with full-trip style plows. Without false trips, operators can plow through changing snow depths and consistencies and the plow will only trip if it hits an immovable object hidden from view. It also protects the operator from those immovable obstacles the blade might encounter.

SnowWolf fortifies its ultra series plows with dual pivot A-frames, triple backbones and nitro-steel cylinders to protect against wear and tear. The dual pivot A-frames create a strong pivot, while the triple backbones provide greater rigidity and durability. The military-grade, nitro-steel cylinders are five times more salt resistant than chrome equivalents and will not chip, pit or rust. These combined properties allow users to exert full down pressure and lift the front wheels off of the ground for incredible scraping ability while forward plowing or back dragging. Ultra series plows weigh in at an average of 100 pounds per foot of width, which makes them ideal for use in demanding commercial applications, according to the manufacturer.

Due to the ultra series’ built-in accessory attachment points, accessories connect easily without drilling or welding, which further enhances efficiency.

WolfWings add 22 in. (56 cm) to the plow width and can increase angle-plowing productivity by up to 50 percent, allowing the operator to clear with maximum efficiency. With the wings attached, an operator can make full-blade passes while angling to prevent snow from windrowing. When straight pushing, WolfWings allow the operator to carry three times more snow. SnowWolf offers the wings with either flexible urethane edges or 8-in. (20 cm) SoftTouch Polymer trip edge, protecting against damage from unseen obstacles. The curvature of WolfWings matches that of the plow to extend its efficient snow-rolling action.
